Eligibility Criteria for BSF Head Constable 2025
1. Age Limit (as on closing date)
- UR/EWS: 18 – 25 years
- OBC: 18 – 28 years
- SC/ST: 18 – 30 years
Other relaxations apply for Ex-Servicemen, LDCE candidates, Govt Employees, and Widows/Divorced Women as per BSF rules.
2. Educational Qualification
For HC (Radio Operator):
- 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM) as regular students with 60% aggregate in PCM, OR
- Matriculation with a 2-year ITI certificate in trades like Radio/TV, Electronics, COPA, Data Entry Operator, etc.
For HC (Radio Mechanic):
- 12th pass with PCM subjects (60% aggregate), OR
- Matriculation + 2-year ITI in trades such as Electronics, Fitter, Electrician, IT & ESM, Hardware, Networking, Mechatronics, etc.
BSF Head Constable Application Process 2025
Candidates must apply online only at rectt.bsf.gov.in.
Steps:
- Register with valid mobile number & email.
- Fill the form carefully and select post preference (HC-RO / HC-RM / Both).
- Pay the exam fee online.
- ₹100/- for UR, OBC, EWS (per post).
- No fee for SC/ST, BSF departmental, Ex-Servicemen & Compassionate candidates.
- CSC service charge: ₹59.
- Upload scanned documents, photo, and signature.
- Submit the form and keep a printout.
Selection Process for BSF HC (RO & RM) 2025
The selection will be conducted in 3 Phases:
Phase 1 – Physical Standard & Efficiency Test (PST/PET)
- Men: 1.6 Km run (6.5 mins), Long Jump (11 ft), High Jump (3.5 ft).
- Women: 800m run (4 mins), Long Jump (9 ft), High Jump (3 ft).
Phase 2 – Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Total: 100 Questions / 200 Marks
- Subjects: Physics (80 marks), Maths (40), Chemistry (40), English & GK (40).
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
- Qualifying Marks: UR/OBC/EWS – 38%, SC/ST – 33%.
Phase 3 – Document Verification, Dictation (for RO only) & Medical Test
- Dictation Test: 50 marks (English passage writing).
- Medical Test: Strict vision & health standards apply (No spectacles allowed).
- Tattoos allowed only under BSF tattoo policy.
