IOCL Eastern Region Apprenticeship 2025 – Trade & Discipline Codes
As per the notification, apprentices are engaged in multiple disciplines. Candidates must apply for ANY ONE discipline code only. Applying for more than one discipline code leads to summary rejection.
Technician Apprentice (Diploma) – Codes 101–106
- 101 – Technician Apprentice (Mechanical)
- 102 – Technician Apprentice (Electrical)
- 103 – Technician Apprentice (Instrumentation)
- 104 – Technician Apprentice (Civil)
- 105 – Technician Apprentice (Electrical & Electronics)
- 106 – Technician Apprentice (Electronics)
Qualification (Common Pattern):
- 3-year regular full-time Diploma in the respective engineering branch.
- Minimum marks:
- 50% aggregate for UR/EWS/OBC (NCL)
- 45% aggregate for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved posts.
Trade Apprentice (ITI) – Codes 107–111
- 107 – Trade Apprentice (Fitter) – Matric + 2-year full-time ITI (Fitter) (NCVT/SCVT)
- 108 – Trade Apprentice (Electrician) – Matric + 2-year full-time ITI (Electrician)
- 109 – Trade Apprentice (Electronics Mechanic) – Matric + 2-year full-time ITI (Electronics Mechanic)
- 110 – Trade Apprentice (Instrument Mechanic) – Matric + 2-year full-time ITI (Instrument Mechanic)
- 111 – Trade Apprentice (Machinist) – Matric + 2-year full-time ITI (Machinist)
All ITI courses must be regular full-time and recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
Graduate Apprentice (Non-Technical) – Code 112
- 112 – Graduate Apprentice (BA / B.Com / B.Sc / BBA etc.)
- Qualification: Regular full-time Graduation in any discipline with:
- 50% aggregate for UR/EWS/OBC (NCL)
- 45% aggregate for SC/ST/PwBD candidates on reserved posts.
Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator – Codes 113 & 114
- 113 – DEO (Fresher):
- Class 12th (but below Graduate)
- 50% marks (UR/EWS/OBC-NCL), 45% (SC/ST/PwBD).
- 114 – DEO (Skill Certificate Holders):
- Class 12th (below Graduate) with required marks, plus
- Skill Certificate of ‘Domestic Data Entry Operator’ (training <1 year) issued by NSQF or any other Central Govt-recognised awarding body.
IOCL Apprenticeship Eligibility Rules (Very Important)
From the same IOCL ER advertisement:
- Mode of Study:
- All required qualifications must be through full-time regular course from a recognized University/Institute.
- Part-time, Distance, Correspondence modes are NOT eligible.
- Passing Year Window:
- For Graduate & Technician Apprentices (Codes 101–106, 112): qualification acquired between 01.04.2022 and 31.12.2025.
- For Trade Apprentices (ITI & DEO) (Codes 107–111, 113, 114): qualification acquired between 01.04.2021 and 31.12.2025.
- Age Limit (as on 31.12.2025):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 24 years (UR/EWS)
- Relaxation:
- SC/ST: +5 years (up to 29 years)
- OBC-NCL: +3 years (up to 27 years)
- PwBD: up to 10 years (UR/EWS), 13 years (OBC-NCL), 15 years (SC/ST).
- Higher Professional Qualification Restriction:
- Candidates possessing B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA/ICWA, LLB or similar higher professional qualifications, or pursuing them and completing before joining apprenticeship are NOT ELIGIBLE.
- Suppression of this information can lead to rejection or termination at any stage.
- Maximum Two Apprenticeships Rule:
- A candidate may undergo maximum two apprenticeship trainings in a lifetime, and the second cannot be in the same trade.
- Minimum one-year gap required between two completed apprenticeships (with special conditions as per notification).
IOCL Apprenticeship 2025 – Reservation & PwBD Guidelines
- Reservation for SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / EWS is applied as per Government norms for each State/UT.
- PwBD reservation is applied horizontally for:
- Graduate Apprentice (112)
- DEO (Freshers) – 113
- DEO (Skill Certificate Holder) – 114
- PwBD are not eligible for Technician & ITI Trade Apprentice codes 101–111 due to hazardous nature of industry.
- Eligible PwBD categories mentioned include Low Vision/Blind, Hard of Hearing/Deaf, Locomotor Disability (OA/OL), Dwarfism, Acid attack victims, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy-cured, and Multiple Disabilities, with minimum 40% benchmark disability and valid certificate.
IOCL Apprenticeship Selection Process 2025-26 (No Exam, Only Merit)
The notification clearly says: No written test, no interview.
- Registration on NATS/NAPS portal
- Only candidates who register and apply on NATS/NAPS against IOCL Eastern Region establishment IDs will be considered.
- Merit List Preparation
- A state- and discipline-wise merit list is prepared based on percentage of marks in the essential qualification.
- Document Verification
- Shortlisted candidates are called for physical Document Verification at any IOCL unit/office in the concerned State. No TA/DA is paid.
- Pre-Engagement Medical Examination
- Candidates must be declared medically fit as per IOCL pre-engagement medical format.
- Issue of Offer for Apprenticeship Training
- Only those whose documents and medical reports are in order receive the Offer of Engagement for apprenticeship.
- Unfilled seats can be filled from the same merit panel.
Important: Even after completion of document verification and training, IOCL has NO obligation to give permanent employment. Apprentices cannot claim job rights based on apprenticeship.

Create your apprentice profile with personal and educational details.
Step 2: Apply Against IOCL Eastern Region Establishment IDs
- Login to NATS/NAPS with your User ID / Email ID

Step 3: Fill Microsoft Form (Mandatory Second Step)
After applying on NATS/NAPS, you must also submit details through a Microsoft Form:
