Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2025)

• Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 33 years
• Technician Grade-III: 18 to 30 years

Educational Qualifications

Technician Grade-I Signal

• B.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation
  OR
• 3-year Diploma in Engineering (above streams)
  OR
• B.E./B.Tech in the above fields

Technician Grade-III (Various Trades)

• Matriculation / SSLC + ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trades like Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, etc.
  OR
• Matric / SSLC + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship
  OR
• 10+2 with Physics & Maths (for S&T)

Nationality

• Must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee (before 1962)
• Migrants from select countries may apply with GoI-issued eligibility certificate

Medical Fitness

Candidates must meet visual acuity and other fitness standards:

• A3, B1, B2, and C1 depending on the post
• Candidates with LASIK surgery are not eligible for A3 posts
• Final appointment subject to medical clearance by Railway authorities

Application Process – Step by Step

1. Register at rrbapply.gov.in
2. Fill your details carefully – mobile number, email ID, RRB zone cannot be changed later
3. Live photo capture (no old photo upload!)
4. Upload signature (running handwriting in black ink)
5. Pay the fee online
6. Submit & take a printout for reference

Apply separately for Technician Grade-I and Grade-III (if eligible). One RRB per level only.

• Negative Marking: 1/3rd for each wrong answer
• Duration: 90 minutes
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS – 40%, OBC – 30%, SC – 30%, ST – 25%

Reservation & Relaxations

• Vertical: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS
• Horizontal: PwBD/Ex-Servicemen
• EWS: Annual income < ₹8 Lakh
• PwBD: Min 40% benchmark disability; scribe facility and compensatory time as per rules
• OBC-NCL Certificate: Must be recent (on or after 01.04.2025)
